Augusta’s Missions
Our mission is to serve freshly prepared food from as many local resources as possible.  We cook your meal when you order it, and feature:  fresh baked bread, hand cut steaks, fresh ground beef, hand cut fries and chips, homemade pickles, mayonnaise, and salad dressings, fresh baked pies, and nightly specials.

Chef Ben Halperin has worked with James beard award winning Chef and owner of Bayona alos Top Chef judge Susan Spicer and culinary master Head Chef Geraud Maris Brennan's restaurant in New Orleans and Teaching Chef at New Orlean Cooking Experience.

Our Story
Jeri and Ben Halperin opened Augusta on January 16, 2008. 

Having been displaced,They left New Orleans hurricane Katrina in 2005.  They went to Ben’s hometown of Chicago to stay with family and were married in September 2007.  After the wedding they found themselves jobless, and went on their “honeymoon” in Iowa.  They quickly decided that Iowa was the place to be and opened Augusta shortly thereafter.
